So my roommate tried his hand at jtagging a zephyr box today and couldn't get the nand to dump. Did some investigation and see that he was pressing so hard with the desoldering braid that he cut a trace between points, anything I can do to salvage this jtaggable box?

Yes, solder to the trace directly or use the alternate points mentioned by xmods here

Thank you very much I did see that thread but I was not sure if those alt points were only for the xenon boards as its right after the xenon rebuild with no new header

The NAND reading points are the same for xenons and the HDMI boards, alternatively you can solder directly to the traces which in my opinion is easier than soldering to some of those points but that's just me.

OK thank you again and when soldering directly to the traces I'm assuming I need to "scratch" a bit of the pcb material off to expose the trace to solder to?

That is correct, just be careful and take your time when doing such points. Use a touch or a drop of flux and not fuld the whole place.
