Nand will not open in 360 flash tool

I read the nand 3 times and then created the ecc after all the usual checks. Then I flashed the ecc and got Xell to boot and retrieved the cpu key. I then entered the cpu key in 360 flash tool and it says badkey/kv and will not decrypt the kv.

After I created the hacked image and flash it to the system it boots right into the hacked dash with no probs at all. Everything is good but it's wierd it will not open the nand even with the cpu key.

This probably sounds really stupid and I'm sure that you know what you are doing, but 360 Flash Too can only hold 25 CPU keys at a time.

Is it full? If so, when you are clicking "Add" it's not utilizing the CPU key that you input.

Try using the NAND tool that comes with JTAG Tool just to see if it opens in there...if so, you're either not selecting the proper thing in 360 Flash Tool or you're not adding the CPU key for whatever reason (being it's at the 25 capacity or one of the boxes at the top aren't checked)

I wouldn't recommend using the 'Add CPU Key' function in 360 Flash Dump Tool. You'll invariably get caught out.

It's also possible you've put the CPU key in wrongly!

If he typed the CPU key in wrong, the console wouldn't be booting would it?

*Edit: Nvm, I'm assuming you just meant he typed it into 360 Flash Tool wrong but typed it correctly into whatever he used to create the ggbuild.

I only use the "Add CPU Key" function so that I can utilize the export tool to create a backup of the CPU keys.

I think I'm on my like 14th backup now?

25 x 14 = ....holy **** I've been doing this too long...

The correct key is in. I checked it numerous times to make sure. Everything works with the xbox the way it should. I thought it was wierd that 360 Flash Dump tool would not decrypt the kv with the correct cpu key, it never happened to me before.

Do you normally "Add CPU Key" whenever you type one in?

Umm, yeah - XeBuild would have thrown a fit without the right CPU key there, so my thought was 360 Flash Dump Tool might have been entered badly.

J-Runner should sort this all out in future , including recording CPU keys.....:rolleyes2:

Oh suuuurrreeeee

Add insult to injury :p

I mean, that's like dangling a $100 on the end of a rope in front of a homeless person....cruel and totally wrong on multiple levels....but from your vantage point, hilarious to watch I suppose :p

I don't use 360 flash tool very often and it had reached the 25 mark so I backed it up and started new and it works .

Thanks for your help.

Some of the simplest things sometimes that cause the biggest headaches.

Glad to help.

@Martin

I have to store mine lol, too many to keep track of, I just export and log them accordingly.

I guess to each their own on their system of keeping records!

I store mine with the NAND dumps, organised by serial number. A no-brainer really :)

Nope

That makes way too much sense to do...

I will probably have to revamp my system accordingly, that's actually a really nice idea. I've got a spreadsheet made up with every nand dump (consoleSN.bin or consoleSNFB.bin) with the directory and the CPU key that goes to it listed on there so I guess mines a little more number plugging that I need it to be, but it helps since I switch between about 5 different computers most of the time and can take it with me on the thumb drive and just hook the USB up from my external to access any of them.

Like you Martin thats how I store them also. I wanted to look at the dvd key to copy it for the new drive I put in because the old one was toast. Customer plugged the power in upside down. I hate having to write the key down from Xell.

I know you are going to say connect it to the network and access it with the IP assigned in Xell. For some strange reason Xell never picks up an IP on my network. Xell will sit at the aquiring DHCP and never load any further unless I disconnect it from the network and then boot Xell. It's strange, but everything else works great. After the RGH I can FTP into with Xex Menu or FSD installed.
