I've been researching and reading up alot about JTAG and the procedures involved but i'm still not sure on how i should install Nand-X with Freeboot on a fresh Falcon box i just got. Would like to have HDMI out for video as well.

Before i order my Nand-X, i just want to make sure i understand everything properly before taking on the task. I apologize if i sound a bit noobish! :p

Most of the guides show you how to install XBR and Freeboot using the default JTAG points but i cant seem to find anything on installing Freeboot on a fresh Falcon using AUD_CLAMP setup.

Can anyone point me to an updated tutorial perhaps?

My Falcon is 7173 MFR date 2008 so the CB should be exploitable.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

This tutorial should give you all the info you need http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55189

You might want to try the bit with Freeboot directly without installing XBR, me and few others have been successful in doing so without the need for installing XBR.

Can i install Freboot directly without having to go through XBR after using the alternate Points or is the XBR procedure then converting in the tutorial required?

Appreciate the help guys! Ordering my Nand-X NOW! Can't wait! Hope all goes well.

Btw, what is KIT #5 Alternative of Nand-X? Saw it on a few online retailers but the descriptions are not very detailed.

kit #5 is an alt kit which uses different points on the board. you wont be able to use the aud clamp with this i dont think and its only used by people with real good soldering skills. ive never used it personally but this is what i gather from reading.

you can skip the xbr part but ive never done it lol but im sure MaK or manwithoutname will be able to explain how to do this.

The XBR part of the tutorial is included so that it is assured that you don't end up with an E79 in the end. Although it makes the tutorial a little bit longer, but it actually replaces the part where you have to install XeLL. Plus, it also makes the whole process a little more noob-friendly, if you ask me.

ive never had an issue with the tut, thats why i just stick with what i know works.
It works :D. That's fine as far as that goes, but many people still think that installing XBR is an unnecessary and additional step, while actually it replaces the part where you have to install XeLL. Well, what can I do? I actually thought of editing the tutorial, but just like you, I don't want to change what I know works ;)
