okay hey guys my first post here. i bought a nand x and i have a jtag, i need to install with nand x. i was wondering do i need to use flux or no?

ive soldered one time on an rc helicopter is that fine? if not what should i do? and i bought a solder from a store and is came with solder, would that have flux?
There are different types of solder but probably the one you have must be a Rosin-core(Flux cored) variant as it is the usually one found in stores.

Xbox360 is an expensive electronic and a comparatively fragile device. Only having the experience of soldering once isn't enough for soldering on the Xbox360 especially DB1F1 since it can turn into a mess if you don't solder to it carefully. You should get some old PCB and first practice before attempting to do soldering on the Xbox360.

you guys seem like very helpful people. so i have a couple other questions.

1. i see that on my motherboard some of the nand holes are filled with solder, do i have to remove those to us the nand x board or the pin headers?

2. what are traces? i see people saying on the forum that they lost their trace and stuff like that.

1. If you use the Pin Header method, then you will have to remove the solder out of the holes. But if you use the QSB method, you don't need to remove it. I recommend that you just use the QSB method and leave the Pin Header.

2. If everything goes well with the soldering, you don't need to know what these people are talking about.

Hello, Im looking for a good quality solder, and searching found that one you tal about, "rosin-core". I think I've found the ideal solder type, this is Sn62Pb36Ag2 with .020" diameter; ..but wondering 2 things,

1- Which is the main difference between different flux-core percentages (1.1%, 2.2%, 3.3%)? which one would be the best suited for PCBs, SMD, small componet soldering.. etc?

2- Is it needed any aditional flux product when soldering with this kind of "flux-core" solder?

Have a look,

Sorry, didnt think this was so much of an off-topic; the guy was asking advice about sodler/flux and MAzeeMK was just discussing about it with him.

thats irrelevant. this is someone elses thread so when you jump in and ask your own personal question then its hijacking. no drama mate just start your own thread and someone will help.
