ANSWERED NAND-X Large connector?

I got my NAND-X and go everything working perfect but was wondering what the purpose for the large connector on one of the long sides of the NAND-X is for. Is it for a future upgrade or something?

if it is for a future upgrade why hasn't one been made what possible upgrade could there be to this awesome device lol

i thought they were adapters for other NAND readers myself lol
