I prefer the points under the board? Plus one of the points, closer to the coils doesn't have any solder (If that makes any sense) in the top side.

You know that the solder in the hole isn't the contact point, its the pads around the holes you may need to put some solder in the one that's not making contact on the top to get it to read since you are going off the bottom.

If its the hole for the red wire, the trace that supplies power is on the top so it will have to make contact, take a pic and post it.

Edit just a fyi. I always make sure all holes are full and making contact on both sides of the board with the pads around holes.

this is not exactly true, the vias are copper all the way through, and also, any solder inside the via is conductive

OP...pull out the connector of your nand-x and push back in with a little force, perhaps the little pins inside the connector aren't making good connection with the nand-x...or try a different usb cord or port on the pc

What I have done on mine is soldered pin headers to the ends of the nandx wires. This should help you out when soldering the nandx wires to the board. Also, since you are using the bottom side of the board are you 100% sure that you are soldering to the right points and haven't reversed the wiring? That could be a cause for your errors. Do you have an analog meter or a digital meter cause if you have a digital meter you could have a blown fuse inside or a dead battery or both. So check that out as well. You could also have bad connections on your probes as well so check that out too. then get back to us. If you would like a photo of the nandx cable I have let me know I will show you.

If youre going to insult me then please, don't post? I just wanna get this problem fixed. It was fine yesterday, came home, and now it won't read any of my consoles nand's. Is it the nand x?
Yes, you've killed the LPC-2148 IC on the NAND-x by your extremely poor soldering.

With all that exposed wire and bad joints, it was only going to be a matter of time before you did it.

Time for a new NAND-x / J-R Programmer - well done.

BTW - I didn't insult you, it was an exclamation. No other words could do justice to what you did there.

Does the LPC being dead affect programming coolrunners in any way?
A different part of the chip is used for SPI programming, so in most cases it won't affect the Coolrunner programming. It's only the IC which has gone as I've swapped this out previously to repair someone else's NAND-x.

Then I'm taking it I'll just purchase a J-R Programmer.
I got paid today and don't have much but I can make due.
