GENERAL NAND-X & Static SMC Config Editor

Someone posted about this a while ago and today I thought I'd confirm what they said. You can use the Static SMC Config Editor in 360 Flash Dump Tool to change any of the values as shown in the screen below and the console will still function as normal.

What that means is without dycrpting the NAND you can still change the fan speeds, DVD region, Game region, Video region and so many other variables.

I will do some more testing at a later time but this would be ideal for example for those who want a 12v fan mod without the need for extra wiring. You don't also have to run the fans at full speed but whatever speed you like.

I tested this on a keyless xenon and it booted fine with fans at full speed.

How about you change the Game and Video Region, then see if the change actually does appear or not

Will test the Video region but can't test the game region as I don't have the key so the console won't boot any game.

No, I meant the board I tested this on came with the wrong DVD in it and it doesn't have the right key. So regardless what game I put in, it will just say play DVD.

I will have test the game region on another board when I get the chance. But I changed the Video Region and DVD region just now and it booted fine and these show on the new NAND image.

I suppose it makes it handy for changing a UK to US to JAP or the other way round.

seems to me though changing the region code or video code would case a flag for ban or something for changing the nand image on a live console but honestly I don't know lol just a thought

No, you need you CPU key to change the region code.

Edit: may be wrong, it seems you can change it on the nand image without your CPU key, not sure if it will work on the other end though. will have to try it out.

isn't changing the region a standard feature in fsd though so why bother? its a keyless board so i think its stock not a jtag at all, so how would the cpu key be available? and if it is why is the dvd key missing? you saying man withoutname would have left it keyless if he had the cpu key? lol
it must be a standard keyless console.

I just want to explain why this works without a CPU key.

the config block @0x2DE is not encrypted by the CPU key. Therefore you can edit it

The idea is to use this on non jtaggable consoles for altering fan speeds, DVD & Video Regions nothing more ..

I would happily test another console and take it online but this was laying around and had no key so thought I use it for testing.

I just tried this (especially the game region change) and it doesn't work, unfortunately.
I change the settings on 360 flash tool to DVD region 1, Game region USA, Video Region NTSC.
I have a NTSC game here, that i bought when i went to America and it doesn't work says the game region is not right.

When i extracted the nand after the write and open it on 360 flash tool, says the Game region is Usa, etc eveything i configured is still configured. So my guess is that this doesn't work.

So i just gave it a 2nd shot, and tried to change the fans speed and the Game Region etc.

The Fans went airplane turbine mode and the a NTSC game still doesn't work, so i think this definitely doesn't work.

PS: I have a bad block @ 90 but i think it's not related to this. I didn't remaped it.

Doesn't make sense, I will have to re-test with another console as I couldn't use the first one because of a missing DVD key.

Which board 360 did you test this on and what dash you currently running?

And i think you got the wrong. When i did the 2nd try and changed the region + the fans, the fans worked, they are full speed, but the region didn't.
