Nand X Wires Only Soldering Question

What is the best method of doing the wires only soldering. Is it better to cut the tips of the wires long and thread them out the bottom of the mobo and solder there too or is a small tinned tip only soldered to the top better. Which is the easiest for someone like me that has some soldering experience but is still learning. Also, is it worth removing the nand x pin headers for multiple installs. Thanks in advance for any reply's.

My advice is to stay away from the pinheaders unless you are experienced. They're way more hassle than a straight xires install and you invariably have to clean out every hole to get them to sit properly.

No need to get the wires all the way through the holes just make sure you have good contacts on the points and avoid using too much solder to avoid any shorts. I find if I tin the wires and keep the tinned end as short as I can then there's no need for extra solder on most installs. A drop of flux and tinned wires and you should have no problems.

My advice to you is if you work on multiple consoles, cut off the pin headers and directly install the wires. If you just need one console, leave the pinheaders on so everytime there is an update you can quickly do so.
