Well i installed an xecuter 2.6 into my V1.4 xbox, and it was working fine but i didnt like avalauch very much so i was going to change it to XBMC. So i ftp'ed into the box and put XBMC in the C:\ folder. Then i edited my x2config.ini to boot XBMC first and put that in the E:\ folder. Now when i boot my xbox it does the xecuter2 config live loading, then does the flubber thing, then it show the "xecuter rox my box" but for some reason it turned pink and then it freezes there.

Any help would be appreciated :)

this is for all new rebuilds of xbmc
ok delete xbmc folder out of C:/ and place it in the E:/ folder then with the x2config make a new one with xbmc boot from C:/ (config looks for xbmc.xbe)
; 255 characters max here, format is <drive>:<path_to_xbe>.xbe, e.g. "f:dashes\avalaunch.xbe"
dash1Name = c:xbmc.xbe
dash2Name = e:avalaunch.xbe
dash3Name = c:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = c:evox.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe
now download a app called xbmc shourcut maker
make shoutcut use xbmc.xbe as both xbe name but with diff folders loaction so it is pick up by x2config
eg
shoutcut
C:/xbmc.xbe(name of shourtcut that you made)
were it will look for xbe
E:/xbmc/xbmc.xbe (the renamed default.xbe in xbmc folder)
then in the xbmc folder rename the default.xbe to xbmc.xbe
it then will redrect the xbox to the xbmc folder in E:/xbmc no need to use x2config (has to be this way for all new build of xbmc)

You can try using an auto installer such as Slayers or AID. This will then reinstall a dash for you. You would then be able to access the HDD and make any changes you require, such as editting the X2Config.ini to set XBMC as the default dash

Do you have any CD-RW discs? You probably won't have much luck getting the Thomson to read a CD-R, but I have been able to get them to read CD-RW discs.

Ok, ill run by a store and pick up some CD-RW's in a little bit. What brand of CD-RW's do you use that work properly?

When does the xbox load the disk, does is load it at the xecuter2 config live loading screen or after the xecuter rox my box?

Thanks for the quick replies :)

it loads it after the "xecuter rox my box" screen, this may not work, but as suggested using CD-RW you havent got anything to loose, if it dont work, just go over the CD.

I got some CD-RW's and put evox on using this tut:http://http://www.copying-xbox-games.com/tutorials.php?tutorialid=00000026. i put it in my xbox and it doesnt even try to read it at the "xecuter rox my box" screen, but it spins up at the xecuter2 config live loading screen then stops when the flubber comes up. Should i try an AID disk that i used in my xbox before i messed it up, it was my friends and he said he would burn me a copy if i need it.

Sorry for the double post. I got the xbox to work again, i put some evox bios on using my progammer then it loaded avalauch again and i ftp'ed and fixed what i needed too. But i got another problem now, i just put the evolutionX dash on for a temperary thing but when i put a game in the drive and click load DVD it starts to load then goes back to the dash. It does the same thing when i try and access the M$ dash and when i have the game in with the chip off, what is the problem?

Did you do anything else to the hard drive? What happens if you boot with the chip off and no game disc in the drive?
