hi ,i got a 1.2 version xbox and just modded it wit the 2.6ce solder job ..all went good it loaded the flash bios screen ..so i flashed it with the evolutionx build 3935 bios set to 512kb,it loaded up fine but i couldnt ftp in the box so i thought maybe i had the wrong bios....and yes this is my first xbox mod of any type.....

anyways i then flashed it the cromwell 2.24 and silly me selected a 1024kb bios and now when i boot it up with the chip disabled i get no screen but i get sound and the eject button is red flashing green....
and with the chip enabled it boots then turns off then boots then turns of then boots again and is green flashing red very quick and no screen or sound......

all the leds are normal...and it doesnt matter what bank i use as it has the same effect......

now what i have worked out is that i screwed the bios up completly and needs to reset it but from what i gather there is no reset for these chips..
i have also checked all my solder points several times, but i havent tested them with a multimeter yet but i dont think that is the problem..

so is there any other solution for my problem?

and is my diagnosis even close..

also i have got a printer port programmer coming but it wont be here for about a week and i would like to have it up and running for my son to play...

any feed back would be nice...
thx guys

If you boot with the chip disabled, the chip won't be causing the screen problem. Something else, not related to the chip, is casing this problem.

As for when your enable the chip and boot, what you are getting would indicate a problem with the chip install.

EvolutionX3935 is a dashboard, not a BIOS. FlashBIOS, or Cromwell, only allows you to flash a hacked BIOS to the chip - the only purpose it serves really. You need to get X2.5035 BIOS and flash this to your chip (if you get FlasBIOS to boot again that is!), and then install the dashboard.

i know i need to reflash the bios but is it possible and how could i do it, as i said with chip enabled i get nothing but flashing eject button.....and chip disabled i get sound but no screen and flashing eject button.........
i know evox is a dashboard but as i said i thought i had done something wrong as i could not ftp into the box...

the chip install seems fine as i had it working previously to flashing

ok strange, i left it for a day then tried booting with chip disabled and now i get video and sound but an 05 error at top of the screen after the xbox logo screen....
i also multimetered the lpc header and i get as follows

1-0.4vlts
2-0.0
3-3.26
4-n/a
5-3.21
6-4.5
7-3.22
8-3.22
9-3.26
10-3.22
11-3.22
12-0.0
13-0.0
14-3.25
15-0.0
16-n/a

all looks ok except pin 1 is a little high and pin 6 is a little low apart from that i cant see a problem there..
