need advice on "broken" dvd drive

hi well im new at this but anyway ive been playing my xbox 360 some time now and first i heard some noises coming from the xbox dvd drive, and i tried calling xbox and all but they didnt reply and when they did they said they were going to pick up the xbox but they never did, so i got desperate and i opened my xbox and found that the dvd drive made some noises like if it had dificulties reading the DVD's, like if something waz stuck, and then i started to play with the xbox opened, but it seemed there were no problems at all, so i cleaned everything and closed it, and it didnt make a sound while i wz playing now, but after a while it started to make the noises again and it seems that it is scratching my games now!! i dunno what to do, i asked someone about buying a new dvd drive, but they told me that i needed to flash my drive or something like that, so what do i do now?! please write back

What drive do you have? You need to dump the firmware and retrieve your dvd key. Without it, you cannot replace your drive.

that's very bright... voiding your warranty after you have concluded something is wrong with it
