I'm running an X3 and 2914 bios, I just completed that part successfully this weekend. Now on to my problem, I'm trying to get Evox onto my box but after following all the cd burning instructions closely several different times with CD-RW and DVD-R i could not get anything to happen. I'm probably just not doing something, somwhere I'm supposed to activate it from the my 2914 bios screen perhaps. I really dont know what I'm doing, just a noob :) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need a CD.

The X3 bios is capable of FTP. Use it. Just use FlashFXP to FTP the XBox (username: x3 password: x3) and put your dashboard files on the C drive. Then, use the bios to select Evox as your dashboard. It should be pretty self-explainatory after you get your files on the HDD.

Good luck on your future modding!

PS: Now, I'm not mad or anything, but you could have found this information using the search button. Just look a little bit harder in the future.

He's right, use the X3. You should also edit the *.INI file for whatever network your using.

One problem after another

Well you were right about using FlashFXP to move Evox on there (as big of a hassle as it is with disabling my DHCP) and I was able to get it on there but I obviously did something wrong again....and now I get Error Code 13. I checked out evox's websites explanation and solution and it didnt make any sense at all to me. Any help...again? Thanks.

Hmmm... where did you download the EvoX dashboard? Error 13 is a dashboard launch error. Perhaps try getting a new copy from XBins?

If that doesn't work, then I suggest Avalaunch. I used to recommend UnleashX... until I got internet connection to my XBox for the first time. Avalaunch is amazing. Even if you get an older version, you can download the newest one and all the programs you need FROM the dashboard itself. None of the IRC business. Makes things much easier. Tell us if it helps.

Well I did download my dashboard files from xbins. What I think happened somehow is I flashed over my xecuter bios...somehow. I dont think its a problem with the files I think its just what I did to open them from my xbox xecuter bios.

You didn't rename any files in evox did you?

Also, did you know that you could setup the IRC connection in Avalaunch and get your user name and password from #EfNet. Then setup the Avalaunch file manager for a remote connection and download apps right from xbins directly to your xbox?

Also the X3 2913 or above has ZIP support.

I did rename the .xbe file to default.xbe but I do remember at the same time editing the name within the dashboard priority menu changing it to defualt.xbe as well. I can see how downloading to my xbox directly would come in handy in the future, if I can get this sorted out : /.

Is there anything at all I can do to fix my problem? I feel like I've come so far for everything to get messed up by an evox install error. I havent gotten to enjoy my box in so long. I've been messing with getting the chip installed and getting the bios flashed and new hdd in. If you can think of some way that can help I would greatly appreciate it and be glad to give you more info. Thanks
