need general advise and direction

I just purchased a CR4 XL bundle from X Consoles for my phat falcon. It's just been sitting around and I need something to do. I am confident in my abilities to install the chip after looking at the guides. What are the steps to take after I install the chip? Is there anything I should do before installing the chip? What programs do I need? What dash should I install? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a total noob to modding the 360. I have successfully modded many original xbox but never a 360. If someone could just point me to the right info or guides to use in the process it would be greatly appreciated.

here is the guide for rjtag,which is what i would try first.use dash 16747 as its the latest that dashlaunch officially supports,and no game requires anything newer atm. get jrunner for the hack,this software does it all.also jrunner should come with a pdf that has info on everything,spend a lil time reading it before starting off :)

Installing aurora, and xexmenu, configuring dashlaunch, setting up link. This is where I always start, after installing the glitch chip, and finish tuning.

Read the jrunner guide last night. That definitely explains most of it. Also did some research on the other programs mentioned. As far as a dash is Aurora the way to go? I see a lot of people use FSD. From what I've seen Aurora is still releasing updates but FSD is no more.

Just got my CR4 XL phat bundle today. Should have my flux tomorrow. Got my solder and iron, multimeter. Have to pick up some wick. Anything else I should need or maybe some final advice? I'm going to give this a go tomorrow.
