Martin, such a great Admin, very conspicuous, even across other sites, nice.

Since I have already posted here with irrelevant information, I should make my post useful, errrrr... let me think of a useful reply here...

An UNDO.BIN will have been saved on your USB drive, keep this safe as you will need it for if you ever want to restore the drive back to normal.
I can't really add anything else, lol...

Thanks. You guys are prompt on your answers......
I got another drive thats puzziling me. Its a 320... i got it to format at 320 using the proper hss bin file. It formatted correctly and i put it in my xbox and worked perfectly..... my pc crashed so i had to use that same drive to get files so i flashed with my undo bin.... now i want to flash it back to the 320 hss bin it flashes and partition perfectly but doesnt recognise in the xbox... when i flash it with a 250 bin file it works. Aby suggestion. Ive tried like 5 diffent 320 hss bin file bit cant read in the xbox. Any suggestions?

So when you had it at the above stage, was it working okay?

The different HSS.BIN files you have tried are likely from the same origin, so I doubt that's the issue.

Are your using the official TX software to make these drives work on the Xbox 360?

Is this other drive the same model as you quoted above or a different model number.

I can understand why it recognises the smaller file as you can do this no problem, for example I used many 500gb drives before and as there was no files for these drives you have to set them up as 320gb. I cannot understand why it does not work with the 320gb as I have used that drive model before. Does the model number show up correctly in Windows, just wondering if the label on the drive has been tampered with and it is only a 250gb.

yes the FIRST time i flashed it and plugged it in windows xp did the pop up and recorginze the drive model. It worked before but none the less i will use it as a 250 gb anyway. If its gonna be that much trouble 250 is better than nothing.

thanks

Maybe you used an incorrect undo file that limited the drive to 250gb....

I'm a computer technician, as far as HDD firmware goes, you may be able to use a firmware updater app to restore the HDD to its factory state, of course, your personal data should still remain.
I would have to assume that its detectable by Windows, or at least diskpart.
