NEED HELP BADLY

I have been searching through countless forums and no 1 has my problem

I bought a xbox 360 brand new like a week ago
ordered a globe 360 mod chip
me and my friend get all the instructions n begin to do it
so we get everything open n everything is good and then we open up the samsung drive and the parts where im supose to solder the chip too are covered in some kind of black substance
im sure microsoft put that their on purpose to stop people from modding their systems but i was wondering if any 1 knows how to remove this substance if its possible
It loox like black tar
please help im desperate

just heat it up with a heat gun, not to hot or you will fry the chip. Check the tutorials on how to do this.

i seen that video but the thing is the stuff is not clear like that

This won't help but I'm curious...why are you going the mod chip route instead of just flashing the drive?

Id rather just do the flash and not risk screwing up your 360. cut your losses and flash it

flashing is cheap easy and effective

just do the research on flashing your particular drive and READ IT THROUGH! its easy if you can do that.
