need help first time mod ms28

Okay I'll try to post as much information as I can and thank you to anyone reading this.

I tried following the textbook's tutorial step by step.

Using the following
Samsung ms28 drive
Xtreme Boot Maker V.0.3.6
SYBA SY-VIA-150 PCI SATA / IDE Combo Controller Card, Non Raid - Retail

1. I plugged in the PCI card into my PCI slot and installed the drivers using the CD.
2. Used Xtreme Boot Maker to make a bootable drive on C:
Xtreme bootmaker found my raid card
I selected the options for ms28 including bad flash and Boke's patch.
3. When I boot up and enter samread xxxxx yyyy (xxxx yyyy being my serial number) it goes into MTKflash and there are two options
1. Primary
2. Secondary
There is no hacked or my controller card displayed

I tried using both primary and secondary to read my original bin but no go...it just hangs there with a blinking underscore...

Anyone else come into the same type of problem with this card. I heard this is soppose to be the best card for flashing that is why I bought it.

did you turn on you 360 before you put in samread
what about putting the sata cable in the slot closest to the motherboard

Okay there are two SATA ports on the card. I think the one closest to the back is the first one AKA master and the one closest to the front is the secondary.

I plugged it in to the one closest to the back tried primary and secondary no go. Tried plugging it into the one closest to the front and still no go.
it says somthing like
port: xxx, master/slave: a0
then a underscore and hangs there... no error.

BTW I am using the NTSF4DOS method so all my cd drives and hard drives are plugged in. Could that be causing the problem? I couldn't use USB stick for some reason even though when I go to F8 Boot Options it shows up as USB FDD HDD but when I select it in BIOS to boot from USBFDDHDD it just doesnt boot. Wont boot from boot options either.

What bothers me is that its soppose to say XTREME or HACKED or somthing like that instead of 1. primary or 2. secondary when choosing my port right?

GOD I feel so stupid right now.

wait for command prompt
turn on 360
type samread
it must say xtreme
turn off 360
select xtreme
wait 10 secs
power 360
it will read
also the partition on which the files are on must be 4gigs or less

did you also check "use custom mtkflash?" just asked cause i didnt see it in the steps you performed.
