need help flashing 1.6b

hi i installed the x3ce withxapt3r on 1.6b and everything went fine. well when i first flashed the x3 3294 bios i used banks off,on,off,off on the x3 control panel well i think i overwrote the flashbios because now i can`t get to the flash bios screen on any other bank settings.i can ftp to evox dash so is there a way to put the right flashbios back on and flash another bios to a different bank from the harddrive or am i now screwed and can`t flash any new bios`s? oh yeah tried booting from backup(power & eject) but it doesn`t do anything either. please help. thanks

I would recommend you flash your backup bios with FlashBIOS 3.0.3 immediately..

You can flash using X3 Config Live Bios through ftp or from the bios options.

which banks do i need to flash flashbios 3.03 to the backup? also do i just create c\Bios and put my bios file in it and flash them from config live? and in config live it asks which banks to flash so do i still need to change them on the x3control panel(buttons) ? and i do need flashbios 3.03 for a 1.6b xbox right. i already have it .thanks for the help because i can`t flash anything with flashbios.

You don't need any banks selected to flash the backup bios...it cannot be accessed other than thru the bios CFL..either by internal flash as below or u could ftp it to the admin folder?

put flashbios3.03 in c:\bios (save it as bios.bin)
then enter config live
go Bios tools <press A>
down to Flash Backup Rom <press A>
Load 256K bios from c:
then browse down to [DIR]Bios
select bios.bin [256KB] <press A>
then answer yes on "Really Flash the Backup Flash Rom?"

when you press pwr& eject after its flashed u should have 3.03

thanx for the quick reply. so do i need to rename it to bios.bin or can i leave it as flashbios 3.03.bin also with other bios do i need to rename them to flash from hdd? and 1 more ?? should i reflash 3294 1.6 bios to on,on,off,off instead of off,on,off,off where it is now or will it be ok after i reflash my backup with 3.03. thanx

1)Yes rename any 256K bioses to bios.bin before flashing (you could for example put an evox "hacked bios" on the backup flash if you so required).
But just rename flashbios3.03 to bios.bin and flash this to backup.

2)Other 1M X3 bioses do not need to be renamed just stick em in the same c:\bios folder exactly as they extracted from the rar file. These will flash in the same way to the banks you select from the menu.

3) Yes go ahead flash the bios to the first bank too..i have mine this way.
With the backup bios working and two 1M banks with working bios , it's a kind of belts&braces for your X3.

Note though that although u will have two copies of the bios , which ever bank you boot the settings will remain the same.
Ie you cannot set different CFL settings for each bank. This is because the x3 settings for the bios are stored on only one eeprom, the bioses however are stored in seperate areas of the flash ram.

ok i flashed the flashbios and now everything is working fine. i flashed the x3 bios to the other 1mb bank(1234, and 5678) and i also flashed a 256k debug bios to bank 6. now when i select the bank of the 256 debug it boots to the xdk launcher, when i select the x3 from bank 1234 it will bot to configlive and then i reboot to the dash, and when i boot to x3 from bank 5678 it will boot straight to my evox dash. that seems odd to me but as long as everything is working fine than great. i just didn`t think i could have 2 1mb bios and a 256k bios at the same time. also 1 more ?? in configlive when i goto bios and name the bios banks, they all say unknown which shows up on my xlcd as unknown. howw do i name each bios because it just says bank 1-8 in xcl ,where 1 x3 is on 1234, and 1 is on 5678 and the debug is on bank 6. do i have to type in a name for all banks or what? i`m kinda lost on this 1. thanks again

When you name them, it gives you the option of which banks to name.
By-the-way, if you have an X3 bios on 1-2-3-4, and one on 5-6-7-8, you can't have something else on 6.

i didn`t think i could either but there is. a 256kb debug bios on bank 6, there is a x3 3294 on bank 1234 which boots into xconfiglive, and the other x3 3294 on bank 5678 booot straight to evox dash.i know that`s not suppose to be possible but it is
