Hey guys so i have a banned 360 with iXtreme 1.6 that i bought around this time last year from a seller on eBay. I'm trying to update it so i can play the newer games such as Forza 4, Gears of War 3, etc... so i'm trying to update the firmware to LT+ 2.0 using my laptop but i do not know how to go about this as i've seen probes and other stuff that have confused me.

Basically i need to be pointed in the right direction.

I bought a USB to SATA Adapter to use for this. Not sure if i can use it or not. I've been trying to get it to work by using the 360 to power up the drive which is connected to my laptop.


I am trying to update it for the cheapest routes possible as i do not have much money to spend at the moment.

Also remember i have a laptop

Any help is gladly appreciated.

usb to sata adapters wont work you need the x360usb pro but since you dont have a lot of money and you only have a laptop thats your only solution to flash an xbox dvd drive. you might as well try to find a flasher in your area because the x360usb is going to cost you $60 plus shipping you can get it flashed for cheaper and its recommended you use a ck3 lite, ck3i or ck3 pro to power your drive.

^ yeah i was kinda looking on my local craigslist to see about getting someone to do it. Like for instance i just found one who does update to LT+ 2.0 for $30 the problem with that is that any other future updates will also cost me $30 so for that wouldn't it be better to just spend the $60 for the x360usb pro and i save some money with future updates?

I mean my system is banned so i don't need to be updating it constantly i would just need to update it to play the newer games that have tighter security however i do not know how frequent i would need to be updating it.

I think your on the right track. For a x360usb pro and a ck3i your looking around $100. You could always get a ck3lite for less. Then your set, hopefully forever.

Besides it's a fun hobby. :biggrin:

To flash your drive:
Xbox360 USB Pro

To power your drive for flashing:
Ck3 Pro/Lite
Ck3i

To obtain the DVD Key in order to make the DVD drive work with different firmware:
CK3 probe III

Most reputable distributors of TX equipment will have combo deals for all of this kit.

Can't i just use the 360 to power the drive?

I mean it doesn't make any sense for me to spend more money. Especially when i figured it wouldn't cost me more than $30-$40$, i wasn't expecting $60+

I heard something about spoofing the drive with a different key and seeing as it's already banned i don't really care about spoofing it if it will save me from buying the probe.

So can i spoof the drive with another drive key so i don't have to buy the probe?

And if so how would i go about getting a key? Not sure if i'm allowed to even ask for someone's key.

Your key is actually specific to each motherboard. It pairs with the drive. Once you have the key off your current drive (you will need a probe 3) you can then use it in other liteon drives for your current 360.

As skiiermike told you, each key is actually specific to each motherboard.
So,you can't spoof the drive with another drive key.
It means you need TX Probe3 to extract your DVD key or you need some help from
anyone nearby your area that have this tool to help you finish this job.
