use the erase bin to erase the bios in that bank, then reflash it with 1959

X3 Detected: Build 1959
- I assume that a password is required.
Thank you for a quick response!

You'll know when you need a password, it won't let you into X3 Config Live. As long as you do what I said before, you should be alright.

I had this exact same problem.

I flashed properly. I've done this several times on other boxes.

I installed the brand new chip, flashed it with 1959, and rebooted.

The colors were grey/pink and the flubber was wireframe.

When the X3 menu came up it asked for a password.

It couldn't have a password yet, I never put one on there. It was a brand new.

The kicker is I pulled the messed up X3 off of the pin header and put another brand new one on. I flashed the second chip with the same BIOS and it works great.

So that rules out the solder job or a corrupt downloaded BIOS.

Is there some way I can fix that chip? I tried flashing and reflashing both BIOS slots and it happened in both of them. The back-up BIOS boots fine every time, and it boots fine with the chip disabled.

Details:

Xbox < 1.6 (the sticker is gone but it's definately not 1.6)
flashbios 1959 1.1-1.5

Thanks guys!

Sorry, I just found the post where it talks about putting the erase config on a CD...

*dips head in embarrassment*
