Need help im at wits end

hi guys ive just installed the 2.6 chip with xapter and it all works fine.
heres the problem........ i have made a flash bios disk with version 4981.67 bios it loads the bios then shuts down the xbox.(as it should). then when i turn my xbox back on _with chip turned on it goes back to the original bios screen.

when i turn my xbox on with the chip switched off it boots up as it always has ( unmodded)

i can not work out what i am doing wrong and i have trawled through the help files .


any ideas or solutions

the file size is 256k + 100mb dummy file

all i want to do is play backed up games if i knew it was going to be this much of a ball ache i wouldnt f bothered chipping it.

Who said that chipping an Xbox for the first time would be easy - everybody (I imagine) get's stuck, at least a little.

Anyway, back to your problem.
When you say 'with chip turned on it goes back to the original bios screen', do you mean it loads the FlashBIOS screen (Blue screen)? Does it do this from both banks?

I think you'll need to flash a 512kB BIOS, rather than a 256kB BIOS. Each bank on the 2.6 is 512kB in size. Generally, it's best to have Cromwell FlashBIOS on one bank, and Xecuter BIOS on the other bank.

Are you clear on what you need to do? Get a copy of X2BIOSManager. Use it to create a 1Mb BIOS image (have cromwell in the first 2 256kB banks, and Xecuter BIOS in the last 2 256kB banks). Then, make another BIOS cd. Once flashed, with bank 1 enabled on the switch bank - Cromwell will load. With the switch set to bank 2, the Xecuter BIOS will load.

You'd be as well getting the latest BIOS too (5035).

ive tried putting that cromwell on my system before the last post.
its gone on but now when the xbox starts up its a blank screen after about 30 seconds the dvd drive ejects..
ive put the bios cd back in it then reads it then shuts down...
sorry for the persistent questions guys
