i installed the x3 mod chip. what do it do from here i have been reading alot and i have benn getting confused. does it need to be flashed from my pc if so where would i get it, or is it already on the chip for plug and play pls let me know.

Now that you have installed your x3 get into xbins (xbox-scene also has tut on getting into xbins but I don't remeber teh link)

Now that your in xbins, navigate your way to teh BIOS section and get teh latest Xecuter3 BIOS.
Now you have teh BIOS you must set-up a network with teh xbox and your PC, so you can put files on it.

Once you have successfully set-up your network, you can flash your chip with teh Xecuter 3 BIOS you downloaded before.

(I have found, and most people would agree, that teh HTTP method is teh smoothest flashing method.)
Once teh chip is flashed log back into xbins and navigate to dashboard section and download a dashboard. (I run Avalauch) To put teh dashboard on teh xbox you must log into your xbox though FTP.
When using FTP I recommed Flashfxp. Enter the ip address of your xbox and teh default username is x3 and teh password is x3. You should then see some folders.
Go into your C drive and put teh dashboard files. Logout and restart the xbox.

wow what do i pick i really just need the flash 3.0.1 for my xbox v1.6 and i dont really know to much about dashboards what should i pick.
You must flash your chip first, you need to get a BIOS for that, the latest one is X3 3029 v16plus. (Just wanted to make sure you understand this, becuz it's not clear if you do in your reply)
After the chip is flashed you could then get a dashboard, I have Avalauch and EvoX. I feel these are the best. : )

EvoX is extremely stable and has never froze on me. EvoX also set teh stage for new dashboards. Avalaunch has a tons of features, IRC Client, File Manger and built in update utility, also many more.
