What is this infectus tools? Use Nandpro. That's the standard now. Also, if you get the same error on the same block on three consective dumps of the nand then it's not a problem. It's just a bad block that is remapped to the end of your nand.

I guess infectus is just to check/verify you have a clean nand dump but thanks. if i were to mess up my nand how would i know? and would i be able to acquire another one? thanks.

Dude just use Nandpro then read the whole nand twice. Then in CMD type in "fc nand1.bin nand2.bin /b" No quotes and the nand1 and nand2 are the filenames for your nand. After that command press enter. If it says that the nands are identical then you got good dumps. If not then read the nand again till at least two nand match.

okay so heres the deal....

a couple months ago i was super eager to do the jtag hack and i dumped the nand but long story short i must have gotten a bad dump and then erased the nand and rewrote the bad nand dump back on. my xbox then coincidentally got the rrod and i was frustrated and left it to sit.

Currently i just fixed the rrod and the xbox turned on and went to the dashboard. the dash works perfectly fine however when i put in a game it always freezes so im assuming thats because of the bad nand write..

im lost and dont know where to go from here. can i use another nand from another xbox and write it into mine? any help is appreciated. thanks.

my guess is that the freezing would more likely be due to a poor RROD fix

how was the fix done?

@Smkface I have the cpu key. How do you get the KV?

@joesinger47 it was a typical rrod fix. artic silver thermal paste and removed the x-clamps.

Btw,given the info on your RROD fix, joesinger is right. My prediction is when the xbox is on the dashboard, the GPU is relatively little used. When you try to boot a game, the GPU is kicked up in utilization and therefore it freezes. If you had a bad nand write, it wouldnt even boot.

Also, you get the KV out of the NAND. Use 360 Flash Dump Tool and input the CPU Key and take out the decrypted and encrypted KV.

Redoing it won't help. Changing the RROD fix method will help. If you have any interest making this xbox run in the long run then I highly suggest a complete GPU reball. If you do not want to drop the money on that then at least a professional reflow.
