You really need to search before you ask questions. You need Torx screwdrivers, 10 , 15, and 20 i think. You have to unscrew the case from the bottom unplug the wires from the back of the dvd and hdd and unscrew the cases that theyre in. Then unscrew the hdd from the side of the chassis. Put your new one in and do the reverse

First you should do a backup function in EVOX or Configmagic. This will create a backup folder on your E drive I think.
Then you want to backup your C and F drives. And your E drive if you want your game saves. Make sure you save that backup folder.

Then you want to UNLOCK the old drive before you remove it.

Then you put in the new hard drive and use an installer, or a boot disc like UnleashX which has formatting support. Or you can send raw commands over FTP. Either way you need to format the new hard drive.

Then you replace the drives that you backed up and lock the new hard drive to the xbox.

NEW firmware with USB drive support

Hi
Following the new xbox 360 firmware update. does anybody have a tool that will allow reading the xbox files from a USB drive?

Tools that i used to use with the Xbox 360 HDD are not able to read the files from the flash!

Also would having access to the flash drive allow you to paste play game iso's on non-modded consoles ? or it wont be that easy :)

Re: NEW firmware with USB drive support

i'm sure a mod for 360xplorer will come out soon

and NO, you will never be able to play .iso files off these without having the disc in the tray

you would have to modify the dashboard in order to do this, and doing this is called the JTAG hack
