Hi guys
I have just installed a 2.6ce into a v1.6 xbox using the pin header & wire technique.
This is my first 1.6 install, I have done a few others on older xbox's (mainly 1.4's).
I removed the pin from pin header as described in the tutorial below http://www.teamxecuter.com/x3/tutorials/x3pin16.htm?CMSSESSID=372d690b8e7185c75cfb0e66b5c2050d
I had a little problem connecting the LAD0 (green as per diagram) to the mobo, I believe this is connected ok.
All other cables are connected as stated in the tutorial inc. the alternative 5v.
On putting all back together I powered on the xbox and nothing happened?
In the end I removed the power lead (yellow wires and white pin header) from the dvdrom and the xbox powers up to the Flash BIOS 3.0.3
If I switch off xbox and put the dvdrom power lead back in then the xbox won't power up again, if I remove the lead after a few tries the xbox will power up.
Any ideas on what this could be, I know it's not the dvdrom touching the chip as the chip has the sticky pad on the back of it for insulation.
Please help
