I am having trouble finding the DO point on the 1.6 b. I have the solderless adapter and it is blue. I have looked for an install guide but none are with the solderless adapter. I installed one in a 1.0 xbox with a 2.3 lite. Easy. My questions are:

1. Where is the DO point on the 1.6b version? The tutorials I am looking at have the motherboard flipped over or are very hard to see?
2. Since I have the solderless adapter do I need to solder the 5v plug?
3. My solderless adapter is not sitting flush with the motherboard and I am pushing pretty hard. What can I do?
4. Do I need to do a rebuild?

I would appreciate step by step instructions if possible. Thank you very much.

okay you have a 1.6b and you are using a solderless adapter. You said your solderless adapter is blue - this sounds like an old Xapter which is not compatible with 1.6 xboxes. You need one of the new Xapt3r16 solderless adapters.

have a look at this link and tell me if your solderless adapter looks like the one at the bottom of the page:

Unfortunately mate you cannot use that on a 1.6 or 1.6b. There is no modifications or bodges you can do to make that work with your motherboard. It is for 1.0 - 1.5 motherboards only with no chance of parole :)

The reason it will not work is that as you might be aware on a 1.6/b you need to do an LPC bus rebuild. The Xapt3r16 solderless adapter takes care of doing this rebuild for you. Where as your solderless has on wire coming off to deal with the d0, the Xapt3r16 has more wires. On a 1.6/b motherboard you also need to get 5volts from an alternative point. Again this little adapter is bundled in with the Xapt3r16. It's still just as easy to fit it all.

So what you need is the Xapt3r16 solderless adapter. All good Xecuter resellers will be able to sell you one of those.

Heres a link so you know exactly what to get:

Thanks for your help...I am going to contact the place I purchased the chip and see if they will send me the other solderless adapter.
