hey there, i have two jtagable xboxes here with me that i have tried to jtag in the past but i failed to finish them up coz i got stuck and give up. I have recently got them both out again to try again, but now both of the xboxs have the three red lights. I forgot what stage i was up to with them, but i dont think i got far, and they have both been stored in a box with no casing on, just the motherboard alone.
I was wondering, how would i get these two machines working again so i can try for a jtag??
plus another question is, does it matter if i use the same power button for testing both xboxes or does it the power button have to match up to the motherboard?
thanks

Its called a rf board,no it doesn't matter.

Sounds like you'll need a reflow or reball on the units.

Whats showing up on the screen on boot,if nothing whats the secondary code showing?

When you say you don't know how far you got......that's kinda worrying lol - have you soldered anything to the mobo yet?
If so, it could be cruddy soldering causing the error - open up the boxes and take a look, then post post back here

ye course i soldered stuff to the board, but they both just have the 3 red lights atm the moment when i try to turn them on. I read the nand of one of them and it worked, i then flashed xell to see if anything would happen and it was still 3 red lights so i flashed the original again. I have read about the reflow and i might have to try this with both boards.
I have both boards open so they have no cases on atm.

no i don't have a reflow station... i thought u can use a heat gun?? i cant afford to pay out for this, i want to try doin it myself

and no they didn't have the rrod, thats why i know they are jtaggable coz i checked on the dashboard. they must have got the rrod when i left them in a box without any case for ages. what would u recommend i do?

hhmmmm....I don't know if the RROD would need a reflow if they were just sat, unless they were in a garage or sat unevenly or near heat.... somethin like that?

You could try a heat gun, and if it is a reflow that is needed, you may get them working, but not for long, and then they'll need reballing......
Personally I would NEVER use a heat gun - they do more damage than good

We may strike it lucky and get Flash or MartinC in here.....they'll have a few ideas no doubt ;)
