I installed an X3 on a v1.6 xbox and all worked well. The box booted to the Bios flash screen, and I flashed to bios. I used the xbox for about an hour strait and then it decided to start fragging. I installed the chip with the pin header and lpc rebuild board. I've modded a lot of xboxs with the Xecuter 2 chips and never ran across any problem, but since I've been using the Xecuter3 I seem to have nothing but problems. Well not initially, but after the box has been on for a while and heated up. I'm wondering what is going on that is causing this chip to be so tempermental. Is it my soldering? It looks good to me, but then again I'm a programmer not an engineer. Let me know what you guys come up with. Thanks!!!

sounds like a bad joint, sometimes they may look fine but when they heat up the solder shifts ever so slightly and loses contact, i think it's called a cold solder joint.

maybe just reheat your solder joints with a little bit of resin so it contacts a little better

Thanks! I'll try that. Something interesting though, if I let the xbox sit, unplugged for a while, then turn it on, it works fine. I'll reheat the solder joints and go from there. Thanks again!

Somthing New I noticed

If I leave the xbox plugged in but I turn the power off, the xbox will automatically power up after a few minutes. Any idea why that is? Could it have something to do with the cold solder joint? Thanks for the help guys!
