Need help with blank screen after succesful flash

I installed an X3 in my 1.6 Xbox with the Pin Header install.

I flashed it from my PC to the Xbox. Everything went fine after I got my PC set up.

I didn't install Evolution X Dashboard yet, but figured I would try a backup I had. I played the game ONCE. Then, I restarted the Xbox to try a different one... and NO VIDEO at all. No dashboard. Nothing. Just the Xbox going on and not loading the Flashed Bios.

I can get to the alternate bios by pressing Eject and Power at the same time. And I can also get to the other bank by choosing to have only the 1 switch on the dip switches (switch 2) set to on.

I played the game with 1 and 2 on in the dip switches. Could that be the reason?

I'm completely at a loss here!

Also, I'm using the 1943 Gold BIOS for 1.6

i am have a problem with mine too so i just installed an x2 bios and it worked... but you could tryed x3 bios 1957

I just tried flashing 1957 and it did the same thing with both banks: Flashes. Shows a successful flash. I start the Xbox and NO VIDEO.

I can boot into the 256K backup fine and having the mod disabled works.

But, I can't get the X3 to give me any video.

I checked and rechecked all the solder points and all is fine. I don't get it.

Well, at least I got to enjoy 1 backup.... once.... :roll: :roll:

UPDATE: I flashed the Evox M8 Bios (newest one, can't remember the number) to the 2nd bank and it seems to work.

I'm hoping it CONTINUES to work!

i am using x2 4981 bios on my x3 and it works fine

Well, the Evox M8 Bios is working well. I even got brave enough to install the newest Evox Dash!

So far, no problems. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I heard stories of people having their mods working one day, leaving them off overnight, and then having them not work the next time they turn the Xbox on. So, I tried it this morning and it still works. I hope it stays that way!

im having the SAME EXACT problem and i've tried 1957 v16 and X3_1943_GOLD v16 and i get ntohing the backup works and so does the mod diabled but i REALLY want to use an X3 BIOS please help

HELP! Lite-on Flashing

ok here's the deal guys i need your help.. i have a lite-on drive and i have a 3 port SATA serial ATA +1 ATA Controller Card RAID supported VIA VT6431A and a couple SATA cables with a piece that allows me to hook the SATA cable to a USB port to plug into my laptop.. i also ordered a CK3 probe.. can i flash my drive with just these? if so does anyone have a connectivity tutorial? i really don't want to brick my drive and if this isn't enough hardware could you let me know? i'm not looking forward to spending any more money on parts! my e-mail is [email protected]com

everything looks fine apart from the sata to usb adapter not sure if you can use these to flash ( i may be wrong)

You can for certain drives only. It will not work with a Lite-on.

Yup.

Are you going to be flashing multiple drives? Anyways, if you are ordering a probe I'm guessing you have a liteon. You cant use a USB to SATA. Get a SATA card.

If you are only flashing your drive, just pay someone to extract the liteon key for you. Any time you need to update your firmware the key is already encrypted into the iXtreme. Never need a probe again!

the probe came in today.. so that means i can't use the usb.. so this means i do have to buy the freakin connectivity kit ugh.. so much damn money! all i wanna do is flash the drive so i could play my list of burned games n not have to buy em, is that too hard to ask for technology?? lol
