Hi Everyone,

New member here. I'm actually not a player, I joined on behalf of my 13 y/o son, who has been begging me to RGH/JTAG his XBox 360.

First off, while I'm definitely out of my element in the world of modding game consoles, I'm no stranger to technical things. I was a test/repair technician working in a high voltage power supply company for almost 25 years, at one point becoming an engineering tech. My soldering, troubleshooting down to component level, repair and retest skills are very good. However, I am having a tough time with modding this box, and it's almost solely due to the fact that I don't think I have a good handle on what type of mother board he has...

I went to several websites and did my best to ID the box, and I was almost sure he has an Xbox 360 S with the Corona board (two round power sockets, MFZG date 2011-06-21). I ordered the CR4, JRPV2 and Corona QSB V3 ( http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/...USA-Canada.htm ). Unfortunately, after looking at various videos, none of the motherboards in these videos look like the component layout on our board :frown:

In the Noob/Beginner forum, Nintendo said that if I took some photos and attached them to a new thread in the appropriate subforum (hopefully this is the right one) someone may be able to help.

Unfortunately, although I have taken several pics I have been unable to upload them here. As soon as I figure that out, I will put them in this thread, I just wanted to make this post a sort of "placeholder" that I can go back to once I figure it out  !

Thanks,

-John

U may have a trinity motherboard.
Too be 100% sure u need to open it up.
Thanks GeekHeat.

I seem to have deleted my original post (never did that on a website before, didn't eve know it was possible) but below are pics of my son's xBox 360S, I'm trying to identify the board for modification purposes. I'm pretty sure he has a Corona but I can't find a modification video that matches this board...

Anyway, here are the pics - sorry, it's really hard loading images on this site (I know they're really large):
