Hey guys,

I've been studying all flashing Tuts on the Internet I could find, but I have still some questions for you guys.

I'm using Windows Vist 64 Bit and I have the feeling that iPrep is not working the way it should on this OS. I'll just give you a list what I've done up to know and it would be very kind of you to tell me, if I have done anything wrong.

-Since iPrep wasn't able to make my USB Stick bootable I just used Windows to format a Floppy Disk and let Windows make it Bootable
-Then I used iPrep to creat all needed Files. I'm using the iXtreme V1.2 revC Firmware and a VIA VT6421 RAID Controller. I selected my Hard Drive so all files were copied to my Hard Drive.
-Then I copied all the files iPrep created onto my Floppy Disk (Windows asked my if I want to overwrite Autoexec.bat so pressed the Yes button)
-The Floppy Disk boots perfectly so I guess I didn't do anything wrong with the Floppy disk.
-I use a Xeno Connectivity Kit to supply the Power to my drive (do I have to fear the Floating Point Ground with that Kit?)I still don't know which SATA Port I Have to use (I don't know what the externel and internel Port is).

That's were I am right know.

Did I do anything wrong up to know???

I tried to flash the Xbox with my floppy disk but it's not working like it should. I can dump my original Firmware but as soon as I'm trying to flash the drive it says something like no Data info. I checked the Backup files, the original Firmware was about 256 KB and the Hacked Firmware was 0KB.

Please Guys, help meeeeee.

did you see samtool start.the hacked firmware did not get built.
if you are using a floppy when it says restart your computer you MUST wait for samtool to run.with a floppy it takes a little while.
yes im saying when it tell you to reboot your computer DONT.
you must wait for samtool to build your hacked firmware.

Samtool did start. I don't know why it went wrong.
I just tried it with a USB stick a second ago and it worked :).
Thanks for the help though, I appreciate it.

I wasn't able to burn a Xbox 360 game to test the Firmwarehack so I don't know if everything is working1 like it should. I tested the hack with burned Xbox 1 Games though and it worked. Does that mean the hack works (for Xbox 360 an for Xbox 1 games) or do I have to test it with a burned 360 game?

I have another Problem with a different Sammy (ms25).
A friend of mine wants his original firmware on the drive. The Problem is, no matter what I'm trying to do, I'll never get to the flashing point. I copied the orig.bin to the backup folder (into the correct sub folder) and named it hacked.bin.
I then boot into Dos and start IFlash ####### #####(with the corregt Digits). I am able to select the right Drive, but then the whole processe freezes, leaving me with the message Port: bc00, Master/Slave: a0

Do you guys know what whent worng (I also tried the mtkflash w/m/sata origin.bin command with the same results.

you cant do it that way.try this.

Restoring your original firmware
If you ever wanted to restore your original firmware for what reasons, then all you would need to do to
restore your original firmware is use the directions for upgrading firmware, to disable FirmGuard, so
you are able to flash your original firmware to the Xbox360 DVD drive.
Few things you need to keep in mind:
- Be sure after you’ve created the boot disk with Xtreme Boot Maker or iprep, to transfer your original
firmware you have backed up earlier, to your boot disk. Make a folder in Backups /[7-digit
serial]/[5-digit serial]/ on the bootdisk you have just made, and copy over your orig.bin.
- You can’t use xRead or xFlash to restore original firmware. When you are ready to flash and
you have disabled FirmGuard, in this case you have to use the command :
MTKFlash w /m /sata Backups/[7-digit serial]/[5-digit serial]/orig.bin

So I just need to to rename the hacked.bin into orig.bin and use this command. Key I will try that one out and if it don't work I'll let you know.

PS:

Thanks for the help.

No, no luck so far.
Is there any other way to disable Firmgard or is it even a Firmgard problem?

Alright, I tright the 10seconds Trick and it didn't work:(.

I also flashed another Sammy from another friend and it worked perfectly (that was the first hack ever performed on that drive).
Now my Problem is that I don't have the Halo 2 copy anymore (which unfortunally belongs to a friend). I tried it with another Game that is not sopportet by the 360 to see what happens and the console shows me the message that the game is up to know not supportet (but it gets recognized as a xbox 1 game). Does that mean the Flash is also a good one or do I have to ask my friend for that Halo2 copy?

No, unfortunally not. I tried it but didn't succed. I downloaded the 0800 Disk to dissabel Firmguard. I read over some commends and it seams like the 0800 Disk bricks some drives, is that correct?
