NEED HELP!! With reading cdrw/dvd

WHy doesn't my xbox read my old cdrw disc? I used to have an old modchip to read cdrw and its works fine with the setup. Now with the same Memorix cdrw with the upgrade Xecuter 3 modchip install, now I cannnot read the cdrw disc and I have tried burning with a dvd disc. I need this to work so I can use the EvolutionX software. But it can read the games fine with the chip install.

Setup: Xecuter3, First Gen. XBOX.

How are you burning your CD-RW? What files are on there?

Yes I have flashed the bios with the 1959, and I burned the evolutionxv1_8_458_iso with Nero, burning at 4x.

If you have a version 1.0 or "first gen" xbox then the DVD would be thomson and it has very bad luck with reading CD-RW's, may just be you were lucky the other times.

How exactly did you burn the ISO file to a disk? Are you aware that ISO files are burned as images?

Yea, like halomaster said, you could have an old xbox with a thompson drive. dont trust a thompson drive to read pirated games, or burnt software.

My Thomson is great 'cos I have two types of disc that read every time. These are Sony 650mb 1-4x CD-RW and TDK 4x DVD+R. Thomsons aren't bad drives, you just need to find the discs it reads.
