Set up your network...enable DHCP in your router settings!!! PROLLY??? Check your network settings in your M$ dash!!! If you dont have your network set up it may thinik that you are trying to just set up a LAN.... Also you could plug in your xbox and unplug your modem and router.... Then, first plug in your modem and let it reestablish its ip....plug in your router and let it do its thing...That is if your network settings are all up to par!!

Your xbox isn't set to take 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 is it?

What port are you plugging your xbox into on your router? There are different ports on some routers, such as Uplink, WAN, and just a regular port.

Note, sometimes only one or the other works like you can either plug into the uplink OR the regular port beside it, but not both.

I have the same router and had the same problem. After going through support and doing many things with them. We gave it one last try. I downgraded my firmware to an older version that support the xbox. After that I had to set up prot-fowarding for Xbox Live and XB-Connect. You may have to do it with Xlink-Kia too. After that everything worked good on my computer and Xbox. Watch out! There are 5 or 6 types of the DI-604 routers and one fix may not work on yours. This was just to give you an idea of what you may want to try. Good luck.

ModDoc : its plugged into the regular port

what are you trying to access? I know Xlink Kai can require port 30000 to be port forwarded. They have a bunch of writeups on their site for that. But that won't fix the problem if when you plug your xbox in, it kills the internet on your computer.

That's just to let the xbox communicate with the outside world through a specific port, so firewalls might not get in the way.

Maybe I need more clarification. When you plug the xbox into your router, the computer, which is hooked up to the same router, loses it's internet access?

Your xbox has:
staic IP of 192.168.0.100
Subnet mask of _____
Default Gateway of ____

Your computer has
IP of. ____
Subnet mask of _____
Default Gateway of ____

And your router's LAN IP is ________ (not the WAN ip, that you get from your internet provider)
And you have DHCP Server enabled on your router?

Xbox has:
staic IP of 192.168.0.100
Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway of 192.168.0.1

Computer has
IP of. 192.168.0.55
Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway of 192.168.0.1

And router's LAN IP is 192.168.0.1
DHCP is enable..

damn. that all looks good. No wise answers from me. Perhaps mekaone had something with the firmware suggestion, but all your settings look good. Only advice I can give, is try plugging the computer and x into different port combinations. Look at the wires too. You shouldn't need any cross-connect wires, so to be sure they are not, look at the tiny wire colors in the ends of the clips. each end should be in the same order. in a crossover, some are out of order.

Maybe try to contact D-Link. They should have an answer for you.

Stupid question - you aren't using a crossover cable are you? Does the same thing happen regardless of which LAN port you plug into? Is there anything else on the network?

This is a long shot, but have you tried plugging the Xbox into the router with no other devices plugged in? another long shot (because everything else looks good), but it could be a spyware app on your PC that hits the Xbox on you internal lan, and then kills the router trying to flood the xbox with port requests. As I said, long shot.

search up ad-aware, and Spybot.
