I used a computer hard drive wire Y (splitter). I pulled out the wires I didn't need and kept the wires for the 5 volts.

Like that I can keep opening my Xbox and mod it without to have any problem because I can disconnect the wires from the Hard drive.

So basically you tap into the Hard drive power.
Any computer store sell them.

Can i use that even though i just need the red and black wires (I believe). Or should i just pull the wires out of the plastic piece and kind of rig in from there?

You can do what ever you like, but items like these molex connectors will make it easier for you to pull apart your box in the future. You can go ghetto now, or plan for the future for an additional couple of $$.

Or do you think a 160 GB would work for about 15 games and couple cds?

Do some maths mate.... Average DVD can store 4.7 Gb of Data...15 X 4.7 = 70.5 Gb... You will have tons of space.

lol my 120 can hold about 25 games + 4 seasons of s******e + 1500-2000 mp3's and a bunch of MS sound tracks. And still have enuf room left for a range of apps, dashboards and a sh*tload of skins. If u want to run multiple HDDs you will need a switch and can only run one at a time.
