Hi,
Need help to determine if this xbox is dead or how can it be recovered/fixed?

I followed the two sticky tutorials to install, read nand and write xbr however it resulted in three red light and blackscreen when powered up.

1. After removing the xenon motherboard from the case, installed pin headers only.
2. Read the nand 3 times with no errors.
3. Compared all 3 nand dumps and they are all the same.
4. Opened up the original nand dump in degraded 1.1 and there were no errors.
degraded reported:
CB Version 1903 LDV0
CD Version 1888
CE Version 1888
CF(0) Version 6690 LDV3
CF(1) Version 5766 LDV 2
5. Installed xenon jtag . Switch in OFF position and jumper on 470.
NOTE that the solder point towards the XL logo of the J1F1 QSB was burnt off or came off the QSB howeve the other 3 points are good.
Is it correct that only the middle two solder point are required?

6. Extracted the KV and Config from original nand dump
7. Assembled the motherboard back into base of the case with DVD.
8. Wrote KV and Config into XBR 8955 downloaded from xbin and wrote it to nand with no errors.
NOTE that the jtag switch was in OFF position and jumper on 470 when writing xbr to the nand.
9. Unplugged nand-x and power.
10. Plugged power in, powered on either the eject or power button and get blackscreen, 3 red lights (left top and bottom, right bottom), middle green, nothing on right top. The power bar light goes from yellow to green and the fan is running.
11. Tried turning off an powering on with different switch and jumper setting and same results.

12. At this point, wrote the original nand dump back onto the nand with no errors however still have the same blackscreen, 3 red light.... result.
Again tried different switch positions and still has I also dumped it again and compared to original nand dump and they were the same.
13. Erased the nand (nandpro usb: -e16 0 400) and the unit would not power up at all. Then proceed to write the original nand dump onto the nand. The result was the same regardless of the position of the switch.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

Will removing both jtag QSB help get the original nand running again?

What jtag switch position is required to write the nand (don't think it matters), to boot the original nand after writing it to the nand.
At switch positon 0 does it matter if the jumper is on 330, 470 or should it be removed?

Is the the solder point towards the XL logo of the J1F1 QSB a required connection? Or is the two middle points sufficient?

The Jtag bit is not needed for reading/writing the NAND, it is only needed for booting xell, Freeboot, XBR. So it shouldn't matter what position the switch is on when you're reading or writing your NAND.

Only the 2 middle points on J1F1 & relative QSB need to be soldered.

When you got the 3RROD, did you get a secondary code (sync button + eject button 4 times)? Get the secondary error code after you wrote XBRl and the original NAND as well so we could if you are getting the same error with both images.

DId you test all the soldered points on the QSB with a multimeter to ensure they all are in contact with their points?

Post a high resolution picture of your install so we could see how well your soldering is?

The secondary code is 0020.

I tested all of the points of the QSB with a multi-meter and they were all good, however I'll redo it tonight and post results and picture.

0020 is possibly overheating, was this repaired previously or did it show any symptoms of RROD before?

Will wait for your update ...

0020 is cold solder joint under the gpu it needs to be reflowed if you heat gunned it it's screwed u caused the bga balls to connect under the bga reball is the only fix

try flashing the orig nand back turn switch to off if it doesn't rrod then it's jtag related and without pics almost impossible to diagnose

The original nand was flashed back and it still has the same problem.
I also suspect the gpu as well :( however I'm hoping to rule out everything else. If nothing else then i'll repair that another time.....

Problem was/is it was removed from the chassis, the xenons are b'stards and can rrod just moving it from horizontal to vertical stand position.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond....

Your responses confirmed it was the GPU and my wish that it was not...

Got it working again for now.

the ONLY thing that would cause this would be board flex the motherboard is forced flat in the cage and if removed and it rrod then the board is warped and needs a 6 hr bake to be flattened again most common in xenons only because they have been around the longest bu it's a common problem in ALL consoles just seen more in xenons
