Need help : X 2.6 newbie here

Hi all,

Bought a modded xbox with xecuter 2.6 chip in it.

default dashboard is evox 3935
BIOS = Unknown (?!)

Person who sold me deleted XBMC/backup tools etc. All I can do now is play game from the dvd drive.

DVD movies: I cant even play dvd movies in it. I got a MS remote too with this. However remote doesnt get recognised.

Now, what are my options here...

1. Should I update to latest and greatest BIOS? will it help?
2. My friend was telling me there should be a utility which comes with the chip lets me copy the files from CD/DVD into teh xbox. I am not able to find it. Where should I look?

get dvd2xbox app ftp it to xbox place in apps folder in e/ folder this will load backups to H/D
or get auto installer deluxe 3 this will do it for you as well put a dvd app
