My xbox boots to the ms dash and the x3 just shows the red disabled light on the external switch. both lights on the actual chip light up. anyone know what this could be?

your install is messed up
dont take it as some kind of personal insult, but it just is, OK
the fact that you recieve 2 blue lights on your chip means that your LPC is most likely correct, however these lights only gurantee that those 2 pins are correct, but more likely the case is that you didnt solder your d0 correctly.
retry this point, but dont lift a trace or anything

believe me, any help at all is welcome. on an added note, shortly after posting it randomly gave me a blue enabled light on the external switch and fragged then turned off immediately. I'll try the D0 now though, thanks.

Well I went back and re soldered the D0 point and while I was at it fixed some other points that looked suspicious... worked right away. running evox now and about to up my hdd. thanks for your support. any one else who reads this and is about to mod or is having problems... CHECK YOUR SOLDERING, it's probably all it is.
