hey i just got finished installing my x3 too and one problem was that I couldn't switch to the Cromwell flashbios. Found it today though, my DO wire, (grey wire) that u solder controls the signal to enable the bios through a ground, well my soldering didn't hold up. I found it hard to try and solder to the little hole it said to but I resoldered with a dab of new solder on top, then melted my wire right into the dab. It boots fine now, only have to get the bios on it. Hope this helps. And believe me I know how annoying it is to not know what is wrong and to take your box apart numerous times......dont sweat ......you'll figure it out.

over heating problem?

hey i was just wondering what is the problem i have a modded 360 and i recently had gotten the e 74 red ring ok so i had tried at home to fix it i had only done the 11 pennies trick on the acg chip i think its called well any way now when i start it up it goes to the e 74 error screen but then u hear the xbox fans go really really fast then the xbox shuts of and gives off the 2 red rings which is over heating right ? but i relized it only does this when the tv cable is not in and the xbox just has the power cord can any one shed some light on this problem ?

Re: over heating problem?

When don't have the AV cords plugged in, the lights come on. Happens to all of the Xboxes. And yup, the two lights normally mean that it is overheating. Just try to keep the air holes away from walls. Have your xbox in an open space.
