Tried every option and drive seems to be bricked. This was the results after looking at it with Martin.

"Ok - conclusion: Drive looks bricked. The OP can connect another v47 and it's picking up fine. Anyone with a TSOP32 programmer (Willem eg) should be able to lift the chip and read the data. Not sure if JF reads encrypted firmware from TSOP dumps, but failing that Maximus' Firmware Toolbox should definitely be able to open it.

Recommendation is to post in the 'Request a Service' section and see if he can get someone local to do the work"

I am currently located in West Lafayette Indiana. If there is anyone in the states that could do this please let me know. Thank you.

TJ - he has a v47 Hitachi. It's not mentioned in the post, only in the prefix.

In short, he needs the TSOP lifted from the PCB and read from a programmer to get the DVD key as the board is non responsive.

First off this post makes no sense :(

I have a willem programmer but it depends on what drive you have??
hi mate,

I looked at the drive thru teamviewer, it is a hitachi 46/47. it is totally bricked. Wont eject, blinking lights in console etc etc.
tried everything to get it recognised in windows (winapi, portio etc) but still nothing.

dale;)

The owner of the drive got a hold of the key he saved a while back. Thankfully i got the new drive loaded with it and its good to go. Thanks everyone for their help.

Excellent - I'm glad he had a copy :)

TJ - I'd already offered to lift the TSOP but seeing as the guy's in the US I suggested he maybe found someone local first!

I'll close this thread as services are no longer required.
