need to reflash Xecuter3 with v3.0.0

got a Xecuter3 on a 1.6/1.6b. The Bios version 3.0.0 loads fine and can ftp to Xbox via pc to flash via http, but the cd/dvd rom drive will not read any of the medias that I burn with the Slayer's Evox and Yop Solo Evox using Nero. It keeps saying CD is not readable. Is there any other way to load a dashboard? eg. ftp?

I need to install a dashboard or something that will enable me to backup games and upgrade HDD.

Any help will be appreciated.

Also....

tried to flash the bios with v3.0.3 on a the same Xbox v1.6/1.6b (not sure), and didn't work. Found out afterwards that 3.0.3 doesn't work with v1.6. Is there a programmer for X3? I switched to bank three and luckily it has the v3.0.0 bios still saved. Is there a way to re-flash banks 1 and 2 with 3.0.0 and where can I get 3.0.0?

So have you already flashed the X3 BIOS to your chip?

If not, then there's no point in going any further.

3.0.1 will work for you - you can get it from the downloads section.
3.0.3 will work too - you just need to press the eject button until you get something on screen.

X3 is different than FlashBIOS_3.0.3?
if it is, no I haven't flashed X3 onto the chip.
I'm gonna look for it in downloads.
What do I do after I flash with X3?
I have 3.0.0 on bank 3 rite now
Banks 1 and 2(i think) got flashed
with 3.0.3 but didn't load (blank screen).
I'm gonna try holding the Eject button also.

You need to download the X3 Bios the flashbios is merely a legal bios that allows you to flash the chip with a "different" bios. Have a look through the main site on where to get and how to install the X3 1959 bios then it will read your slayers etc. The x3 bios enables the box to read unsigned code (anything apart from a genuine M$ game)

How did you flash your FlashBios to a different version?

I connected the xbox to my router
Turned on the modchip with the xbox
which loaded FlashBios v3.0.0
clicked on first option (enable http flashing)
then went to my computer and opened up IE
typed in the ip address of the xbox (example:192.168.0.2)
immediately loaded form for flashing the bios.
I made sure I had the switches on whatever bank
I wanted to flash to.

Thanx for all ur help Martin & straff, I successfully loaded X3 and then Evox onto my box. Soo happy!!! I found X3 from ircspy.com. It read almost all my cd's/dvd's that I burned the Evox onto. Now I got alot of reading to do on how to do things with the tools I have. My first goal is to backup a game onto my original HDD on the XBOX. Or should I try to install the new 120 gig? and backup on to there... How do I transfer my saved games (not backups) to the new HDD?

You need to FTP your old C and E drives to your PC.

Once you've formatted the new HDD, copy them back. job done.
