Network Bios Flash Question

Here's the setup:

v1.0 with a Xecuter 2.6 CE Lite flashed with 4978 on bank 1 and FlashBios 3.0.3 on bank 2, retail HDD with no new software installed.

If I want to reflash bank 1, can I boot FlashBios 3.0.3 on bank 2, make the network connection with my PC, then flip the switch to bank 1 and flash 5035 bios on it?

Also, what is "Lite" about this modchip?

I've given up on trying to burn Evox on a CDRW. My Tommy drive just can't read them and I'll be getting a DVD RW this weekend. This has to be the most fun project I've worked on in some time. I see a second Xbox in the near future.

hee hee ive just grabbed a 2nd xbox from fleebay (great minds think alike) the dvd (thompson) aint the best of drives but alot of forum users are in the same boat,i have a phillips and like the thompsom can be a good/bad reader.
there is mods avalible like laser power tweeking and firmware reflashing that can make all the difference but try a few different cd's/dvds before you go down the hardware mods route.

the modchip flash plan sounds like its comming together too just remember to use the right flash ,x2_5035_vOLD_512k.bin - older xbox versions v1.0 - v1.5.... baz

Yes, but no need to flip the switch before flashing, by default X2 chips flash on bank 1 first so just flip the switch before powering on the console after flashing.

Thanks for thr replies guys. I finally get the 4x256 I've read in other posts. If it's a 512k bios it takes bank 1 and 2 while a 1MB would take banks 1234, and will always load starting at bank 1 first.

You need to understand I'm a kinda old dog so new tricks take awhile.
