It boots with no network connectivity, If i put a little pressure on the NIC during boot it will connect to the network. I thought maybe a bad connection or a bad chip so I bought a replacement chip and port from jsinger and replaced them and it's still doing the same thing after swapping both the chip & port. What should I do to try to fix it??

Thx for the suggestion but how could it be the southbridge if it only requires pressure on the NIC to connect?? I could see it being the southbridge if it requird pressure on the southbridge..

I have already recapped the motherboard..

I'm going to try to apply pressure to the NIC while I reflow it and let it cool before I remove the pressure

I tried replacing the big xenon nic chip with one of the small ones from a falcon/jasper and it did the same thing so I'm going to take the suggestion of reflowing the southbridge and see how that works and i'll report back in 30-45min..

does anyone know where the network controller get it's power from? I know FB1B1 is a 3.5v fuse for it but where should I trace the power to so I can test it??

thanks to anyone that helps..

the big ones are not xenon specific, i have jaspers here with ones from the factory, along with zephyrs with the small smd. if you swap a big one with a small one make sure you swap the accompanying SMD resistors and SMD capacitors to get it to work. ill have to get out a board to test voltages on since i cant seem to find the pinout pic i used to have
