Are you connecting to your pc via a static ip addy ????

I had a similar prob to you when i had my xbox connected to my pc via a network card with a static ip .Every time i put a backup disk in it would reset the ip to the static one and i'd have to reset it every time i wanted to connect to live.........I can only assume evox expects you to connect to your pc to start extracting an .iso or something like that.

Anyway i solved my prob by connecting via a router and setting the ip addy in evox to DCHP.You then connect to live and your xbox to ftp using the same ip.

Just remember to turn auto log in of in your m$ dash :D

Dunno whether this will solve your prob but it sorted mine :D

Jtaged box now "Could not detect a flash controller"

Hi guys

i jtag'd this box a while ago and instaled xell and got the cpu key,
then it got put aside while i did other things.

cut a long story short. i cannot get either usb or lpt to detect the flash.

i have other boxes that i have checked and the lpt and usb are working fine,
i have tried removing the jtag diodes and jumper but still no go.

anyideas?

thanks.

yes. i have tried different versions of nandpro and various gui for it.

all work perfectly with the other boards just not the one that is actually jtagable lol.
i have read that maybe the spi is dead on the sb, i have checked with a meter and all the spi points are roughly the same reading.

unless there are any other options i will swap the nands over on the nands, get a good dump (think i might have lost original dump) then start again.

to be honest i cant even remember how far i got with the box.

at the moment it will boot to blue screen with fuses ect using eject.
and boots into nxe 8955

so i want to take a backup incase i screw it up from here.

any advise / instructions very welcome.

thanks.

Are you sure you do not have any wires that are crossing when connected to the LPT/USB points for reading the nand? Do you have the console plugged into the wall but not turned on when you try to read the nand? Also do you have AV cables attached when doing this? Did you check to make sure you did not burn the points too much?

Hi. yes,

i have quadrupple checked all connections and they are prefect. no shorts anywhere or bad wires.
i have double checked both the interfaces and the wires on another 3 boards and its perfect everytime.
it must be the board thats causing the problem.

i have just updated the xell to xellous and taken a full dump using flash360.

now just to update to latest dash and figure how to get my backups running from hdd.

thanks.

Seems like you might have lifted the little ring pad on the connections. But yeah that should work just taking a raw dump through Flash360 and updating to Freeboot using the XBR dump. Good luck.

nope all the connections are perfect.
i have also traced all the points back to the sb and the tracks and pads are fine.
whilst im a noob at jtag my soldering skills are 2nd to none ;)

i think i remember having to swap the nand on this box because the original one died on me.
and i seem to recall readin a similar thing earlier where someone couldnt read/write nand after swap.

looks like we are all good now, running 2.0.12611.0

now just to find a tut on running games from usb lol

Thanks.

USB might be a little slow for you to be honest. I'm not sure if that will work out too well.

EDIT: Just read more on it and it seems like it works. Though, I always just put them on my internal.

yea i was reading earlier that there is no limit on hdd for the jtag so might go that route and see.
ripped a game to the internal using xemenu and it worked fine. (appart from black screen on xexmenu meaning i had to insert a usb drive lol)

thanks for the help., just have to have a play and see what i can make it do now lol.

What I do is I install the game via NXE and then patch it using NXE2GOD. I personally feel like its the easiest way of going about it. Never really played with the idea of booting off usb since I thought it would be too slow. Though I know that there is like a 760gb or something like that limit on the internal(sidecar) since the 2.5 laptop drives that are bigger than that amount tend to have just slightly larger thickness and people had problems putting them in the sidecar without modifying it.

thats no problem i can modify the sidecar to make it fit,.
or what i may try is modify it to accept a esata connecton from an external hdd.
then i can use 3.5" drives hopefully with no size limit.
