I have a network internet connection and am needing to flash my bios either ftp or http. My connection is as follows. I have the modem and an 8 port hub networked with two other roomates computers. i cant get my box to tell me an ip address so i can get in when it is plugged into the hub. i have tried flashing through the dvd and the cd-r method. could it of been that they were dvd+r? if anyone could help me with step to step or pointers because the online guides tell you to learn how to network they dont show how.

Ok when you boot the Xbox in X3 mode (blue Logo light) and you get the Flashbios 3.0.0. screen choose "enable network flashing", hit your green button on controller and it will attempt to get your IP address. If it does not show your IP address then you have a networking prob. Check that you don't have a firewall or a cable problem. If you have a firewall then you will have to disable it long enough for your flashbios to find the IP. Once it shows the IP write it down and then you can config your firewall to accept that IP address. Or just leave your firewall down long enough to flash your bios. I used the http method and it worked for me. Just remember to change your X3_195x.bin file to bios.bin before you try to flash. I tried the cdr/dvdr method and never had any luck either. Hope this helps a little....good luck.

Fixed

I was having troubles because of dual onboard nics so i finally went and bought a crossover cable and did the http method and it worked beautiful. However now I cant ftp into the bios to install my dashboard. Never thought it would be this hard haha. If anyone knows how to do this pm me or post.

Re: Some help please:)

It is. I flashed it last night on Win 7 ultimate 64 bit. Worked like a charm. Had to eject the drive a couple times before JF would recognize it.

Re: Some help please:)

i never disabled them i used the onboard sata to flash my drive back to stock so i can update to LT(because i already flashed to LT but forgot to update the dashboard). But now that its back at stock i need to re-flash with the probe and r232 serial com port(which i do not have) so i am stuck with only usb. But every time i try to click the dvd32key tab it crashes and restarts my pc:(

Re: Some help please:)

Well try it plug and play and see where that gets you. If all else fails then find out the product name and search on google. :)
