Networking Prob 2 [Cant Get Online with ICS]

Right, round 2

I have my Xbox networked to my PC via crossover cable. Heres the ip info, slightly different from last time:

[font=verdana, arial, helvetica][size=2] PC:

Set the IP to [email protected] : 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1

DNS is left blank.

Xbox:

In the Settings Of XBMC i have set:

DHCP : Disabled
Set Static IP: 192.168.0.2
Set Subnet  : 255.255.255.0
Set Gateway : 0.0.0.0
Set DNS1 : 0.0.0.0
Set DNS2 : 0.0.0.0
FTP Login: ****
FTP Password : ****

I have enabled ICS and everything seems ok, i can still ftp to XBMC, i can still go online ok. But when i try and run any online scripts from XBMC such as googlenews or similar nothing much happens.

Heres how i have my internet connection set up it seems like its all ok (see attachment):

Any ideas what i may be doing wrong?

anyways...the ip info above is now:

PC

Set the IP to [email protected] : 192.168.1.9

Settings Of XBMC

Static IP: 192.168.1.10

For some reason now when i enabled share internet connection i can no longer connect via ftp to xmbc. Weird...any ideas?

mat i had the same problem with LIVE when i started out (ages ago lol) you need to enter the host name of your computer (the name you gave it when you installed XP) into the xbox, i not too familia with XBMC try asking someone on here where you would have to enter that.

you are using internet connection sharing (get a router save your self the grief) turn off the wiindows firewall if you have it running still.

and use something like below. similar to what i use with my router and have no problems.

PC:

Set the IP to [email protected] : 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1

DNS is left blank.

Xbox:

In the Settings Of XBMC i have set:

Set Static IP: 192.168.1.101
Set Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Set Gateway :192.168.1.1
Set DNS1 :192.168.1.1
Set DNS2 : 192.168.1.1
FTP Login: ****
FTP Password : ****

also need to make sure you have the proper networking protocols installed and configured on your pc.
