Hmmm....

Depends on how your wireless config is setup!

a) Are you using a wireless hub?
b) Are you using dialup or Broadband?
c) how do you intend on connecting your xbox? to the pc or to the hub?
d) How much money do you have to spend?
e) What OS is the PC running?
f) how is the pc connected to the hub?

Lots of Q's ... basically ... need more information...

i must be missing something here.
You connect the xbox directly to the hub. The wireless PC can be anywhere that the signal strength is good.

I'm doing the same thing I have my xbox connected to my PC thourgh a X over cable. And my PC is connected wirelessly, i have my NIC's IP set to 192.168.0.1, and everything seems to work,

I think the deal is Xbox <=crossover=> PC (with 802.11g + NIC) <=wifi=> router <=> broadband connection.

So what is being asked for is informaiton on Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) under WinXP.

My experience is all corporate level - no idea of ICS config.

I'm having a problem I'm trying to connect to live, but I keep getting a DNS error, since my xbox is connected to my PC though a Crossover cable what should the DNS be?

The DNS on your xbox should point to either your PC or the DNS servers that you PC points to.

Use ifconfig /all from a cmd window.

Setting up ICS is easy. Use the wizard. IE: go into control panel and network options.
And on the left hand side is the wizard. It will ask what you connect to the internet with, then it will make the other connection the internal home connection.
Don't bother making the setup disk.

Connect the xbox using a x-over cable , you only need four wires but the standard is to wire all eight.

Set the xbox ip to anything from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254
I set mine to 192.168.0.99... easy to remember.

LOL, nevermind I just didn't have ICS enabled since I reinstalled my network card. OK i'm just gonna vent here so don't read if you don't care. OK so I was gonna have a friend over and we were gonna both connect to live through my router/hub. I was gonna bring the router and modem up to my room since I got a 50 foot TV cable to connect to the nearest room CATV jack.. The modem and router are usually downstairs for my parents computer. So I get it all set up and then see that the modem isn't connecting so I think WTF. I call up the service company and ask why the interent isn't coming though the jack up stairs, she says O well we only enable one jack, and I am like um ok, and hang up. Now we can get TV up here but not internet, which is so ****ing retarded, I don't know I'm just pissed. Would anybody know how to enable a CATV jack for internet.

DO you have a structured wiring junction in your garage? somewhere where the CATV, and telephone lines come into? Open it up - you will probably see that only one port in the house is connected to the CATV "bus". Make/buy a small cable and jump the outlet you are looknig at into the patch block.
