My old xbox fried so I got a new one which has been working perfectly the last few months, playing all my backups and whatever. Yesterday I bought a new hard drive for it so I made an evox boot cd but I can't get it to load.
I've tried 2 cdrw and 2 dvd-r's. Made an iso with and without a dummy file in both craxtion 4 and qwix. Burnt with nero and some other iso burning program. I've tried both the 5035 and m8 bioses and multiple versions of evox on the cd and everytime it just hangs at the splash screen. I've even tried putting my old dvd drive from the fried xbox in and that didn't work. I have a xecuter 2.6ce. Any ideas of what else I can try.
For the dummy file, from my understanding it's supposed to get written to the cd before the evox files because the dvd drive has trouble reading from the beginning of the cd. How do I make sure this happens? Do i name it something so it appears alphabetically before or after all the other files? Does it matter what type of file or anything?
