Im also wondering if we could kinda downgrade with nand dump if we aciidentaly update
I got a hold of a Zephyr that I had the CPU key for and it didn't ask for the update. Something's really strange about this update.
It's a little complicated, but if you have a dump and the CPU Key, it might be possible to still create a working 14699 FreeBOOT image by increasing the LDV value by one. I'm sure Martin C would have a better answer though.

wow this sucks. i now have 4 slims i spent a lot of time finding brand new trinity's with lite on 4's to make sure they could get the demon when it comes and ive been holding off for it.. man i hope this doesnt do what some think it might do otherwise ill keep one for live and sell the rest. this just sucks im REALLY hoping this works out.

If the rumours turn out to be true and phats are updated to a two stage cb then a backup of your nand may not be worth anything. You probably wont be able to downgrade again and your console will not be eligible for the rgh. The hack for the slim works on the second stage of the nand booting sequence anyway so there probably wont be any problems for slim owners.
The change to a two stage nand will most likely permanently block the rgh in its current form on phats.
Basically dont update if you can avoid it. If your looking for an rgh console then you can get used to not having live from now anyway couse your rgh isn't going on live unless it's dual nand and this upidate may rule that out for phats now.
I'd like to know if this effects the demons development or rollout though as I've been only glitching slims, because after a discussion in a thread with martin c I thought it may come to this so I've avoided the phats.

so this for sure will not affect the slims? man my heart just sunk reading this. i spent weeks finding specific trinity consoles that were brand new to mod, im keeping one clean for live but the other three i wanted to mod. and my wife will literally kill me if i tell her now i spent money on 3 brand new xbox's and cant do anything with thm now for the kids since she will not but new games and let the 4 and 6 year olds handle them and then we end up buying the same game over 3 times. arghhhhh please tell me its not so...
Why is that a bad thing Shakezilla? If it does not affect slim's you can RGH them and have dual nand.

Been holding off to RGH a Jasper for a couple of months now. Gotta see how this plays out now. I guess i gotta RHG the slim now. To the team, I know you guys will figure it out, you always do.

Both types are asking for it. There's no noticeable pattern yet.
How is your RGH console with FreeBOOT asking for an update? You should have it set to not connect to Live if it's on the internet.
