New 2.0.14717 Dashboard - Security Changes

all this is blowing me away and tbh it`s confusing me.
if someone could give me a quick heads up on this for my slim i`d be most thankful.
in a nutshell i`ve a slim running on the latest lt3.0 thats it.
reading all this RGH stuff is blowing me away big time :facepalm:

well id like to get some clarification. i understand most of what has been said. the different types of glitching on slim and phats. why this shouldnt affect slims. but i have a retail slim on 14699 that im holding out for a DemoN. i use this console on a day to day basis. is it safe to update this console or am i better off waiting?

also i just saw a comment quoted from an irc channel that a slim 14717 is rgh'd and booting. was this already glitched and then updated or was it a fresh glitch? does anyone know?

no it is not safe yet - that's already been stated.

and the comment regarding a slim 14717 rgh and booting - you do realize that was me, right ? :rolleyes2:

It was done on a console that was already RGH'd (so we had the CPU KEY) - we haven't finished the 14717 ecc yet so xell is booting just yet - that's all in progress. Until then its not safe until you first have your CPU key.

No update in Canada yet and none of my friends have got it either so i dont think that the update has hit Canada yet.

Don't update until there is confirmation that you can and why not get the key now and be on the safe side?

OK, i've red through the pages to get a glitch of the RGH.
I have a trinity slim and the parts i need to install coolrunner, am waiting to do so if demon is out.
So now its on lt 3.0 and is it safe to update from stock (fw question though)?
Should i get the cpu key with the coolrunner before the update, or is slim not touched by the update?
Best thing would be wait ofcourse and that is fine cause of my original slim, but i'm thinking about getting the cpu key before the update (preperation for coolrunner and demon) so whatever happens in the future i have the cpu key. Or should i just update and play on with my backups?

Seriously now has noone ever heard of c4evaspeaks. That's where the first verified news for firmware will be released. Anything else will most likely be speculation.

I know there's a new dash but do we have to have every other post asking the same thing?

Update is at your own risk until c4eva announces his findings. After all it's his team that are the experts.
