New chip- Orange light and purple boot screen

I just got a new X3 chip and installed it. The system will boot into the MS dash with the mod disabled or to FlashBIOS in backup mode but when booting up in normal mode after flashing the BIOS the screen is purple (shows pruple flubber then purple xbox logo with Xecuter mark then freezes), the fan runs full speed and the light on the xbox is blinking orange.

I've tried two BIOS versions on both 1MB flash banks but I can't fix the problem. Is there anything else I can try before dealing with sending the chip back for an exchange?

What bios did you flash with it? Looks like the config.ini was edited already, try downloading X3 3294 bios and re-flash.

Make sure to flash the correcrt bios version...
X3 3294 for xbox v1.0 - 1.5
X3 3294v16plus for xbox v1.6/1.6b

Check your pm for more details.

Where did you get that bios?
Somehow the settings have been changed. Purple flubber can be done easily but if you didn't set it thats far from default settings.

Things to try:
Holding A+B+X+Y during bootup.
If it is the latest bios, try previous versions.
If you get a password screen with an older bios, try "xbox" for some reason and then reset settings to default.

If you have problems with the X3 bios, try another bios such as X2 or M8 on a different bank and run X3_erase.xbe

Make sure you get your bios from the only reliable source... #xbins.

The system will boot with the M8 and X2 BIOS files but none of the X3 BIOS files work (I'm using the correct files for 1.6, with the non-1.6 files the system shuts off after 2 seconds).

With X3 3108 the system has the orange blinking light with no video. With the two newest versions it shows the green xbox logo on a purple background with the Xecuter logo at the bottom but wont continue past that point.

I'm trying to get X3_erase to work but it just shows the xbox logo (tried both DVDR and CDRWs with dummy files to use free space)

All of my files have come from xbins.

Confirm what you did here... dummy files?

when running M8 or X2 bios, either create a boot up disc running and load X3_erase.xbe OR ftp it across and run it from a file manager.

After you run it, reflash the X3 bios again.

I couldnt get the system to see any files on discs (ISO files were made and burned properly, they work in my other system) so I ended up swapping hard drives with my working xbox then used the FTP in the dash to load the X3_erase. After running that I reflashed with 3294 BIOS and the system loaded properly.

System now works.
