Ok so i have a new drive for the busted 16D2S.

So to make this work on the xbox.
I have to use the dummy file from the broken drive?
Do i just load this dummy file and the latest LT+?
And follow the regular procedure of flashing, or do i need to do something different?

Anything to pay attention to, so i don't kill this PCB also.
Still cant understand what went wrong with the other one so i rather be a noob ask before messing up again.

The new drive came in a blank casing.
Should i just swap the internals to the other casing?
Since there is no label on it saying its a liteon 16D2S etc;...

No if it is a liteon casing u should be good,

If you already have the most recent dash, go ahead and flash LT 3.0 using your Dummy.bin as the source FW and the proper LT 3.0 as your target FW.

If you need to update your dash, flash the drive using your Dummy.bin, put it in the console, install the most recent update, then flash the drive with LT 3.0

Yeah the console was already on 2.0.13599.0.
So i should be good with that.

So load dummy file from old drive.
Auto load of latest LT+
Intro/Device ID
Write
Outro / Ata reset

no need for erasing.

Ah ok.
So its erase liteon
Write
Outro / Ata reset

after loading dummy from old drive and new LT+ file

Sidenote: Could it be i killed the PCB from the previous drive because i got a X360 USB Pro V5?
Just noticed the guide say i should not powercycle because X360 USB Pro V2 does this automatically.
And i did powercycle.
Even though JF still shows me the message to powercycle.

360pro does not power cycle drive, it just provides communication through port for ur dvd and computer, you meed a ck3 to power ur drive and when extracting key you need the ck3 probe to power cycle by pressing the button on probe

1. plug the drive up to pc
2. run jf app
3. load ur ofw/cfw with ur key spoofed
4. mtkflash select ur sata port click liton-erase
5. then click yes then yes again
6. then it will ask u to power cycle the drive do so quickly
7. u should now be in vendor mode ur chipset should show to the right and status 0x72.click write
when done outro the device if outro worked correctly the drive model and key verified will be to the left agian.

thats it works everytime. also when i say power cycle the drive i mean with ck3/ck3i or if using the 360 for power unplug the power from the drive then back in quickly

Hopefully nothing goes wrong this time.

Edit : Do i click "Spoof source to target" on Firmware tool 32 tab first?
Or is this for other drives.

Ok again.

1. Connect drive
2. Click Spoof source to target (with dummy from original drive, and latest LT+ loaded)
3. MTK Flash tab, lite-On erase to get into 0x72(have to power cycle as stated at popup).
4. Write
5. Outro/Ata reset

Sorry for repeating myself, but i rather ask a few times to many to be sure i got it right.
Never replaced a drive so ...
